Menai Thomas

Menai Martino
It was probably one of the most successful Royal Welsh Shows ever for Menai Ponies and Cobs. I would like to thank you all for your kind remarks about our ponies and with 10 animals entered from all four Sections including the three ridden entries, no doubt some of you would seriously question our sanity. Anyway, we had a tremendous week and just for the record, here are some of our winners.

In Monday's Main Ring Ridden classes Menai Thomas was Champion Section C, being the 5th Royal Welsh Section C Ridden Championship won by a Menai Pony whilst our Menai Calon Lan ridden by our Thomas stood third with young
Hannah Hargreaves on Calon Lan's son Menai Celtic Worrior stood 8th and second best gelding. Well Done to all concerned. Gemma Paxford reunited with her long time partner, produced Menai Martino to perfection to win the Ridden Stallion class for the third time at the RW and the Championship for the second time.

Menai Curiosa

Menai Lady Constantine
Our Section C fillies met with some strong opposition but our 2 yr old Menai Curiosa won her class and was Young stock Champion, coming back on Thursday to stand Reserve Female and Reserve Overall Champion to that lovely mare Synod Lady Lilian. Congratulations to the Williams family, and to Cerdin and Doreen Jones for breeding her. Our 3 yr old Menai Constantine stood 4th in her class whilst 14 yrs ago her mother Menai Lady Conspicuous was Female Champion and Lady Lilian was Reserve Champion Youngstock

Menai Santana
On Wednesday morning whilst the boys were busy with the two Section A colts, with Friarly Silver Cloud coming third in the 2yr old colt class, Ann was showing our Section B yearling colt, Menai Santana, who was second in his class. Shortly after his 3yr old brother, Menai Silwyn, was also second for
Richard Butler.

Menai Calon Lan
Thursday was the M & M HOYS qualifiers in the Horse Ring and with huge entries in both the Section C and D classes. I was extremely proud of our Thomas and Calon Lan for coming

Menai Cardi Llwyd
3rd again, whilst Menai Thomas took the second spot, with young Hannah Hargreaves also getting placed on Menai Celtic Worrior. Not to be out done, Richard got a tune out of Menai Cardi Llwyd in the Section D class to also stand in 3rd place. That was the first time for both boys to be riding at that level.

A big Thank You to all concerned for making it a Good Show.
